The two smallest pod sizes are designed to be espresso-like, while the larger sizes are all designed to be coffee-like. The VertuoPlus is designed to work with the five smallest capsule sizes to brew coffee. The only one that does not function is the most recent VertuoLine pod size: carafe. The Vertuo Next is compatible with all six VertuoLine capsule sizes.
